Last week I was blessed to attend probably the greatest learning experience conference of which I have ever been a part.
First of all, SCORRE 2015 was held at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort in the mountains in Colorado so the setting was beautiful.
Regardless of the setting the information and material provided were priceless. I truly believe if you are in the business of communicating, whether it be as a speaker, author, salesperson, pastor, teacher, trainer, or whatever, if you communicate you should attend a future SCORRE Conference for 3 important reasons.
- Great Clarity – Using the SCORRE process I was very quickly able to define what it is I want to speak about or communicate. I was able to weed through the ambiguity to be sure my points are clear, understandable and actionable.
- Greater Focus – We were taught that if you can’t say what you need to say in five minutes then you aren’t ready to communicate your message. This laser sharp focus helps you get to the point in such a way that your audience has no doubt about what you want them to know.
- Greatest People – The SCORRE Conference is one of the offerings of Ken Davis’ Dynamic Communicators, INC. If you aren’t familiar with Ken Davis he has been inspiring and motivating people through laughter for over 40 years. Ken is actively involved throughout the entire 3 ½ days. He is available, open, and there to help because he wants to see you be successful. Michele Cushatt is another speaker and author with an incredible story with an incredible desire to help you grow and develop. Along with other great instructors/coaches you meet other conference participants from all over the globe. Each of them with their own amazing personal stories and desires to make a difference in the world with their gifts and talents.
We can always find plenty of reasons to not invest in ourselves; not enough time, too expensive, too far away, not right for me, etc., etc., etc.
In virtually everything we do we are communicating a message. SCORRE will help you become a a better communicator than you thought possible delivering a clear, focused message.
I’ve given you 3 great reasons why you NEED to invest in yourself. I can assure you, you will not regret it!
Have a STRONG and COURAGEOUS day!
This is a fantastic post! Thank you so much for sharing your experience at SCORRE – we are so glad you came and that it made such a difference for you!
Thanks for a GREAT week!
fantastic Dave – I can see the power of the SCORRE process just in the write up!
Thanks, Paul! I found this to be one of the fastest blogs I’ve written because of the SCORRE process. Great stuff! Hope your time at the CBMC meeting went well!
Dave, this is great material, and in today’s world of total Mis-Communication, spot on for everyone. It is always interesting to me how we no longer use verbal communication or even a phone to speak to others, but rather an email, text, snap-chat and/or other means. What our young people are missing is the whole wonderful world of personal communications, seeing each others expressions, voice intonation, tone variables. Wow, kind of scary to think what another 10 years or so will bring regarding change to personal communications. Sounds like SCORRE is on to something, sure wish I had known about them back in the 80s, LOL.
Thanks for your continued sharing and Bloging. It is so refreshing to hear about your exploits and experiences!
Great post Dave! Hope you’re 2016 is going fantastically! It was a pleasure and a privilege to spend time with you as we headed to the airport following the conference. By the way, in case you didn’t see it, here is my blog post about SCORRE http://michaelhudson.com/the-most-important-investment-you-should-make-this-year/
Here’s to hoping our paths cross again soon!
Michael, thank you for taking the time to read my blog post and for your encouraging words! I was shocked when I received my twitter alerts that my blog post from last fall was featured in the tweets for SCORRE, LAUNCH, and DCI Communications! I enjoyed our time together as well. It was great to debrief with someone of your caliber and experience. In reading your post I was reminded that we can never know it all and can always continue to grow. I, too, hope we can connect again soon!
